Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the newest theme park added to the Walt Disney World Resort, opening to the public on Earth Day, April 22nd, 1998.
While a variety of animal species call the park home and are a big part of the experience, calling Animal Kingdom a zoo is leaving out a major aspect of the park. The theming, stories, attractions and shows create an immersive experience the way only Disney does it.
