Orlando Area Theme Parks

Central Florida is home to a number of amazing theme parks outside of Walt Disney World, and you should consider visiting them if your vacation budget and time allows. From aquatic wonders to top of the line thrills, the theme parks in and around Orlando offers something for everyone, and all of them are within a reasonable drive of Walt Disney World.

Universal Orlando:

Universal Orlando is comprised of two world class theme parks – Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. There are also three on-site hotels, a water park, and an entertainment district, making Universal Orlando its own resort, much like Walt Disney World. Universal Studios focuses on movie magic and how they make it, and Islands of Adventure combines thrill rides and family fun, and is where you’ll find the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

You can visit the official website of Universal Orlando for more details.

We also suggest visiting OrlandoInformer.com, which is the premiere unofficial website for all things Universal Orlando, from detailed touring plans to descriptions of the attractions, shows, dining options, and resorts. We also have our blog articles hosted there!

SeaWorld Orlando:

SeaWorld Orlando encompasses the theme park, the new water park called Aquatica, and Discovery Cove, which is a boutique park where the focus is on the individual guest experience in the tropical setting with aquatic wildlife.

LEGOLAND Florida:

Legoland recently opened its Central Florida location on the ground of the former Cypress Gardens amusement park, located about 45 minutes southwest of Orlando. A new waterpark also recently opened. Along with the various elements made out of Legos, the focus of most attractions is on younger children and families.

You can visit the official website of Legoland for more details.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay:

About an hour west of the Orlando area is Busch Gardens, and its water park, Adventure Island, both located just outside downtown Tampa. Along with an incredible lineup of roller coasters and other rides, Busch Gardens also has a number of animal exhibits, featuring species from all over the world.

You can visit the official website of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay for more details.

In the future, we’ll be detailing more about each of these parks as well as several smaller ones. In the meantime, remember that as a full service travel agency, we’d be happy to help you book a vacation or get tickets to any of these theme park destinations!
