Animal Kingdom Area Resorts Dining
A total of five resorts make up the Animal Kingdom Area – the three All-Star resorts, along with Coronado Springs and Animal Kingdom Lodge and its Kidani Village.
The three value level All-Star resorts have large food courts, pool bars, and a shared pizza delivery service. Guests looking for a full service restaurant or indoor lounge/bar at these resorts will have to go elsewhere, however. The food choices at each of the food courts range from standard fare including burgers and sandwiches, to more interesting choices like Grilled Salmon and Chicken Penne Alfredo. The shared pizza delivery service, which is available every evening, gives those looking to spend some time relaxing in their room a dining option.
Coronado Springs is a moderate level resort, and features a table service restaurant, two food courts, and two bars/lounges, one of which serves food at lunch. The entrees at the restaurants are mix of American standards and Southwestern style dishes.
Diners at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Kidani Village will find three table service and one quick service restaurant, along with three bars/lounges. The table service restaurants all feature African inspired dishes, while the quick service restaurant, The Mara, offers more standard American fare. Animal Kingdom Lodge guests also have the option of private in-room dining (room service).
For most visitors to Walt Disney World, a stop at the dining locations at the All-Star resorts or Coronado Springs will only be on the itinerary if you are staying there. The restaurants at Animal Kingdom Lodge, including Boma and Jiko, do get some outside guests looking to try the different culinary options. If you are interested in visiting the resorts for a meal, you can catch a bus at any of the parks or Downtown Disney. You can also drive yourself, and just let the guard at the entrance to the resort know you are there to dine and check out the resort.
All of the restaurants at the Animal Kingdom Area Resorts accept the Disney Dining Plans. The food courts and quick service locations accept the Disney Dining Plan as a Quick Service meal, and many of the dessert items qualify as a Snack Credit. The Table Service Restaurants are all one credit, except for Jiko which is a Signature Restaurant requiring two credits. Be sure to visit our section on the Disney Dining Plans for more information on how they work.
