Commissary Lane

Tucked in between The American Idol Experience and Pixar Place is Commissary Lane, which is home to two restaurants and a small bookstore and coffee shop. Commissary Lane runs from near the Sorcerer’s Hat at the end of Hollywood Boulevard to Streets of America near Star Tours.

Attractions

While there aren’t any attractions that are located along Commissary Lane, the audition entrance for The American Idol Experience is located here, towards the end of the lane near Streets of America, across from Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater.

There are no scheduled entertainment offerings or meet and greets along Commissary Lane.

Dining

There are three dining locations along Commissary Lane – Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, ABC Commissary, and Writer’s Stop.

The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is a table service restaurant, themed as a drive-in movie theater, complete with black and white science fiction movies projected on the big screen, and tables designed like classic convertible cars. The fare here is American, and the lunch and dinner menu includes burgers, sandwiches, pastas and steak. This location accepts the Disney Dining Plan for one Table Service Credit, and Advance Dining Reservations (ADR) are recommended.

Set as a movie studio’s cafeteria, the ABC Commissary is a quick service restaurant with American and Asian fare, including burger, chicken, fish, and salad entrees. Various posters for current and upcoming ABC television shows adorn the walls, and the seating is a mix of chairs and booths. Most of the seating is inside in the air conditioning, with additional tables located out along the lane. The Disney Dining Plan is accepted here, and is one Counter Service Credit.

Writer’s Stop is a coffee house and book shop tucked around the corner from Sci-Fi Dine-In and offers a variety of pastries as well as hot and cold beverages. The Disney Dining Plan is accepted here, using Snack Credits on most menu items.

For more details on each of these locations, visit the Hollywood Studios Dining section of the site.

Shopping

The Writer’s Stop has a section of various Disney themed books, CDs, pens, coffee cups and other souvenirs, and for book shop fans and those needing a jolt of caffeine, it’s a great place to stop in the morning to get going or in the afternoon for a quick pick-up.
